Best Senior Pictures in Alexandria VA (Old Town)

I was delighted to be asked to take senior pictures in Alexandria, VA. I don’t often get a chance to head out to Alexandria for senior pictures, but having grown up in northern Virginia, Old Town Alexandria is one of my favorite places.

Alexandria was founded in 1749, and has the unique distinction of being founded in Virginia, chosen by George Washington in 1791 to be part of the District of Columbia, and given back to Virginia in 1846. Old Town is a beautiful historic district, with cobblestone streets and unique Georgian and Federal architecture, including several national historic landmarks. Plus it is next to the Potomac River!

I met Madison and her mother on a chilly fall morning at Cafe du Soleil for a warm cup of coffee to fortify us before we began her senior photo shoot. Then we spent an hour exploring and discovering interesting doorways, walls, alleys, and historic townscapes to use as the backdrop for some gorgeous senior pictures.

After the shoot, I spent a few pleasant hours visiting shops, grabbing a bite to eat, and checking out the inspiration at the Torpedo Factory Art Center.
