Take Better Pictures Now – Welcome

grace notes dead leaves on pavement

Each week there will be 2-4 instructional videos, worksheets, and a practice challenge. You can email your assignments to me the week they are due and I'll create a feedback video for you. You can also post your photos on Instagram with the hashtag #takebetterpicturesnow.

I hope you'll be thinking about and practicing photography much more than the 30 minutes for the class! The real value of the course will come if you take out your phone camera during your daily life and start taking photos, applying and practicing the concepts in the lessons.

Look through the videos below, download your pdfs, and let me know if you have any questions! I want this course to be a valuable and rewarding experience for you.

A very warm welcome! I'm so happy I'll be working with you in the upcoming weeks and sharing my love of photography with you.

This course is an introduction to the art of photography composition. The fastest way to take better pictures is to learn how to see. Once the fundamentals of observation and the rules of composition are understood, you can begin to master the intricacies of your digital camera, off camera lighting, posing, and so on. Those things are not covered in this course, however.

The course is intended to be something that busy people can fit into their schedules to find a little joy. My best guess is that it will take you about 30 minutes a week to work through the content, do the assignments, and leave feedback.

5. reflection.
